About

I've always been a solutions-oriented individual, constantly looking to optimize.

And so, the world of statistics and artificial intelligence drew me in. Leveraging data to provide answers and make informed decisions was a perfect fit for someone like me. My primary interests lie in the applications of computer vision and reinforcement learning, specifically in healthcare and autonomous systems.

At UC Davis, I was fortunate to have amazing professors (special shout-out to Dr. Chen, Dr. Aue and Dr. Farris) who supported my vision on how I wanted to apply statistics to the real world. Their guidance allowed me to create multiple projects that bolstered my growth as a statistician and machine learning engineer, such as this. In general, the Statistics Department at UC Davis deserves a big round of applause for the excellent education they provide. Though I've graduated and moved away from Davis, Wellman Hall (the location of basically every Stats class I took) will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Now, you might be thinking that healthcare and autonomous systems are some pretty incongruous disciplines. I mean, how do Retinal Vascular Tree Extractions and Unmanned Lighter-than-air Vehicles really mesh? (hint: they don't). My interest in autonomous systems is something I've picked up fairly recently (as of writing this: March 11, 2025). It happened during a Summer internship at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC, where I spent 10 weeks developing reinforcement learning systems for autonomous high-altitude aerostats.

Currently, I'm working on further growing my technical skills in developing machine learning models and algorithms while I prepare to start the Georgia Institute of Technology's Masters program in the Fall of 2025. Stay up to date with my journey by checking out my Experience and Project pages, or send me a message if you're interested in working together!
